A nurse since 1981, Annette gained a vision for community development whilst working
with Cambodian refugees in Thailand; seeing first hand a
community experiencing recurrent diseases, and the disempowerment caused by their situation.
After returning to the UK in 1992, Annette qualified and worked as a midwife before joining Youth With A Mission (YWAM), where she gained further qualifications in Community Health and Primary Health Care. This was followed by ministry with YWAM Cambodia from 2000-2008, living in a remote, impoverished north-east province and working with an integrated Community Health & Development Programme (including church support).
Annette has led the Community Development School in Harpenden since 2011, with a vision to equip servant-leaders who will start a similar process of community transformation as they facilitate community-led development programmes built on Biblical principles.
